Everything Is Awesome was written for The LEGO Movie in 2014, where it plays as the relentlessly cheerful anthem of Emmet's world. The film version was performed by Tegan and Sara featuring The Lonely Island, and the song was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song. Its simple, repetitive chorus made it easy to quote outside the film, and it spread online as a shorthand for teamwork, success and upbeat montages. Creators still reuse the hook both sincerely for celebrations and ironically when plans fall apart.

The catchy chorus from Everything Is Awesome from The LEGO Movie, used in videos to celebrate wins, teamwork and things going perfectly well.
This is the bright, hyper-optimistic chorus of Everything Is Awesome, performed as an upbeat pop anthem with group vocals, synths and a relentless singalong hook. The clip captures the main refrain where everything is declared awesome in unison, with an intentionally over-the-top cheerful energy. It sounds polished, bouncy and deliberately repetitive, which makes it instantly recognisable even out of context. Listeners hear it as pure celebration, but its exaggerated positivity also works as gentle irony when something is clearly not going well at all.
