Little is known about the exact origin of lol22, which circulates as a short user-shared meme clip rather than a named scene from a film, show or game. Its name points to online laughter culture, where short 'lol' clips are saved, shared and reused as quick reactions in comments, chats and edits. Because it is only a few seconds long, it fits easily into short videos, streams and social posts without slowing the pace. That simplicity helps explain its continued use: creators reach for a familiar, light-hearted sound when they want a fast laugh without building a joke around it.
