Papyrus is one of the main characters in Undertale, the indie role playing game released by Toby Fox in 2015. The younger brother of Sans, he is an earnest skeleton who dreams of joining the Royal Guard and speaks in a loud, theatrical voice. His laugh, transcribed as Nyeh Heh Heh, became one of the game's most quoted lines and spread through fan comics, animations and soundboards. The short clip remains popular because it captures his personality in under three seconds and works as a reaction far outside the game.

The Nyeh sound effect is the iconic laugh from skeleton Papyrus in Undertale, used in gaming edits and memes for smug, playful villain moments online.
Papyrus Nyeh is a short voice clip of Papyrus, the tall skeleton brother from Undertale, delivering his signature laugh, usually written as Nyeh Heh Heh. The sound is high, nasal and theatrical, with a smug, overconfident bounce that makes even a simple entrance feel like a grand announcement. It lasts only a couple of seconds but instantly signals a goofy villain who is trying very hard to sound impressive. Viewers recognise it immediately and use it to puncture tension, mark a proud failure, or give a character an instantly memeable personality.
