Rodan is the winged kaiju of Legendary's MonsterVerse, reintroduced in Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019). In the film the creature slumbers inside the volcano on Isla de Mara, Mexico, and awakens in a spectacular eruption that levels the surrounding outpost. Its new roar was designed to blend a pterosaur-like shriek with deep volcanic resonance. Clips of the eruption roar spread quickly through kaiju fan edits and soundboard sites, where it became a go-to sting for oversized entrances, disaster memes and versus videos.

The clip captures Rodan's full-throated roar as the giant winged kaiju tears out of the Isla de Mara volcano in Godzilla: King of the Monsters. It opens with a deep volcanic rumble and the rush of superheated air, then breaks into a piercing avian screech layered over guttural reptilian growls, with the heavy beat of enormous wings underneath.
