Michael Jackson released Thriller in 1982, and its zombie dance and Vincent Price style horror imagery turned it into a permanent Halloween staple. Illumination's Sing franchise later gave the song an animated twist in Sing: Thriller, a 2024 short where the theatre cast performs it in costume. Clips from that version spread on TikTok and YouTube as a family friendly alternative to the original, keeping the iconic beat and chorus but replacing real horror with cartoon monsters, stage lights, and playful choreography that editors reuse every October.

Clip of characters from Sing performing Michael Jackson's Thriller, with spooky singing and Halloween energy, used for movie edits and seasonal memes.
This clip features animated characters from Sing performing a cover of Thriller, blending playful cartoon vocals with the song's unmistakable spooky groove. The singing stays light and theatrical rather than scary, with a bouncy Halloween mood that feels more like a costume party than a horror scene. It works because the familiar chorus is instantly recognisable, but the cute animated delivery makes it funny and shareable. Viewers hear it and immediately picture moonlit dancing, glowing eyes, and over the top monster moves timed for comedy.
