WNET is the PBS member station known as Thirteen, serving New York, New Jersey and Connecticut from its license city of Newark. Like other American stations in the era before 24 hour schedules, it ended the day with a spoken sign off identifying its owner, the Educational Broadcasting Corporation, and its non commercial status. This 2000 version survives online because viewers recorded late night broadcasts and later shared them as examples of lost television rituals. It is now reused for nostalgia edits and ironic good night clips.
