Flippy is the green army bear from Happy Tree Friends, the animated web series launched by Mondo Media in 1999. The character is known for his split personality, staying friendly until a trigger sends him into a violent frenzy, and his screams became a signature part of that switch. Short clips of his yells were later ripped and shared on soundboards and in fan edits, where the scream works out of context as a universal panic reaction for memes, gaming videos and cartoon parodies.

Flippy scream sound effect from Happy Tree Friends, a short high pitched yell used for sudden panic, jump scares and funny reaction moments in edits.
This clip captures Flippy from Happy Tree Friends letting out a short, sharp scream that lasts just over a second. The voice jumps up in pitch, sounds strained and panicked, and cuts off abruptly without any music or background noise. Because Flippy is usually calm before flipping into chaos, the yell feels instantly out of control and a little absurd. Viewers recognize the panic immediately, which makes the moment land as both a shock and a joke, even when the sound is placed over completely unrelated footage.
