Forgot About Dre was released in 2000 as a single from Dr. Dre's album 2001, first issued in 1999. Written as a response to critics who thought Dre had faded after N.W.A and Death Row, it features Eminem, who also co-wrote the song and won a Grammy with Dre for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group. The hook became a lasting hip hop catchphrase, quoted in comments, captions and edits whenever someone feels overlooked, and the short chorus still circulates widely on soundboards.
Tentang suara ini
The iconic Forgot About Dre hook from Dr. Dre featuring Eminem, used in meme edits to call out anyone acting like they forgot a legend today.
This clip pulls the famous hook from Forgot About Dre, Dr. Dre's defiant comeback track with Eminem on the second verse. Eminem delivers the rapid, biting lines about people talking big while saying nothing, building to the title phrase that lands like a reminder of Dre's status. The beat underneath is tense and minimal, letting the vocal rhythm carry all the energy. Played on its own, it feels confrontational and funny at the same time, which is why a short excerpt works so well as a reaction to disrespect, forgetfulness or underestimation in a video.
