FiveM began as a community modification framework for the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V, first released in 2015 by the CitizenFX Collective. Unlike standard GTA Online, it lets players join dedicated custom servers with their own rules, jobs, vehicles and roleplay stories. Streaming helped it spread, as long improvised scenes on popular roleplay servers turned small sounds and reactions into shared references among viewers. That server culture is why a brief FiveM clip still works online: fans instantly connect it with improvised police, criminal and civilian chaos.
