Ululation, known in Arabic as zaghareet, is a traditional vocal celebration used at weddings, births and other joyful occasions across the Middle East and North Africa, where women traditionally produce the sound by rapidly moving the tongue while voicing a high note. The clip circulated online as a short reaction sound, labelled in Spanish as a Grito Arabe, and creators began dropping it into memes and videos whenever a moment called for instant festivity or over-the-top excitement. Its instantly recognisable trill keeps it useful because it communicates celebration without translation.
