The joke combines two long running fandoms. Plankton is the scheming villain from SpongeBob SquarePants, while Fallout New Vegas is the 2010 role playing game developed by Obsidian Entertainment and set in the Mojave Wasteland. Online editors often pair familiar cartoon voices with unrelated game praise for comic contrast, and this short clip follows that pattern. Its appeal comes from treating New Vegas with total, over the top devotion, a sentiment many fans share about its writing, factions and replay choices.

Plankton shouting his love for Fallout New Vegas in a short meme voice clip that fans drop into gaming edits, streams and reactions to the classic RPG.
Plankton delivers a loud, passionate declaration of love for Fallout New Vegas, turning a simple fandom statement into a punchline. The voice is high pitched, frantic and instantly recognisable as the tiny villain from SpongeBob SquarePants, which makes the contrast with the gritty post apocalyptic RPG even funnier. It lasts only a few seconds, but the exaggerated devotion lands immediately, like a fan who cannot stay calm about a favourite game. Creators use that burst of obsession to exaggerate hype, agreement or excitement in a gaming conversation.
