The sound comes from Crank That (Soulja Boy), the 2007 hit by American rapper Soulja Boy that became a viral dance craze before social media as it is known today. Its opening shout was widely imitated, parodied and sampled, and short clips of the stretched you later circulated on soundboards and in meme edits. Because the track and its dance remained a nostalgic reference for a generation of internet users, the isolated shout survived on its own as a recognisable callout detached from the full song.
Tentang suara ini
Elongated yooou shout from Soulja Boy's Crank That, turned into a meme sound effect for callouts, hype moments and funny reaction edits online.
This clip is a single stretched-out shout of the word you, delivered with rising energy and a playful, exaggerated tone. The vowel is held far longer than normal speech, which makes it instantly recognisable and funny even without any context. It starts as a direct callout and turns into a comedic announcement, as if someone is hyping up a friend or calling attention to themselves. Listeners hear it as confident, silly and attention grabbing rather than serious, which is why it works so well as a quick punchline dropped over a short video moment.
