Ameno was released in 1996 by the French new-age project Era, led by Eric Lévi, and later appeared on the album Era in 1998. Its pseudo-Latin chanting, Gregorian-style choir and pop production made the opening lines widely recognisable far beyond the original record. In the late 2010s the dorime section spread on YouTube, TikTok and meme pages, often attached to surreal images, animals in robes and mock rituals. That second life kept the clip popular as shorthand for something mysterious, powerful and slightly absurd at the same time.
