Aura farming grew out of TikTok slang for deliberately building coolness and confidence, usually through a slow-motion walk, a dramatic pose or a perfectly timed entrance in an edit. The phrase spread through short-form videos, gaming clips and anime edits, where creators paired confident music with moments that made an ordinary character look untouchable. It is still used because the joke is instantly readable: one swagger-filled moment tells viewers a character has aura, without needing any explanation.
