Patof was a beloved clown character created and played by Jacques Desrosiers on Québécois children's television in the 1970s, notably on the TVA series Patofville. With his red nose, bowler hat and cheery greetings, he became a fixture of French-Canadian childhood and later appeared in records, comics and reruns. Clips of his voice have resurfaced online as nostalgic meme audio, where a simple 'bonjour' from Patof is reused far outside its original context as a wholesome, retro greeting sound.
