The 'chai' chant is tied to Ionioi Hetairoi, the signature moment of Rider Iskandar in the anime Fate/Zero, where he summons his vast ancient army to the battlefield. Fans clipped the soldiers' rhythmic shouting and shared it across meme pages and soundboards as a shorthand for hype and overwhelming force. It stuck because the chant needs no translation: three seconds of pounding voices instantly sell an epic entrance, which keeps it popular in gaming montages and anime edits years later.

A crowd chanting 'chai' in rhythm, taken from the Ionioi Hetairoi scene in Fate/Zero. Creators use it for hype entrances, army charges and meme battle cries.
This short clip captures a group of deep male voices chanting 'chai' over and over in a driving rhythm, like soldiers marching into battle. Each shout lands on the beat, growing louder and more urgent across the three seconds, with a raw, unpolished edge that makes it feel like a real war cry. It instantly injects energy and mock-epic drama into whatever plays under it, turning an ordinary entrance or reveal into a full-scale charge. The crowd-like layering gives it a stadium feel that makes even small moments sound massive.
