Dead by Daylight is an asymmetric multiplayer horror game released in 2016 by Behaviour Interactive, where one Killer hunts four Survivors. The Clown, real name Kenneth Chase, joined as a Killer in the Curtain Call chapter in 2018, bringing a deceptively cheerful circus look and a deeply unsettling laugh. Clips of his voice lines spread through Twitch streams, YouTube horror compilations and TikTok edits, where the laugh became shorthand for a creepy clown about to attack. It remains popular because it signals danger instantly, even to viewers who have never played the game.

The maniacal clown laugh from Dead by Daylight, the Killer's cackling voice line used for horror edits, jumpscare builds and creepy circus memes.
This is the extended cackling laugh of the Clown from Dead by Daylight, a shrill, wheezing giggle that rises into manic, echoing bursts. It sounds deliberately unhinged, mixing high pitched chuckles with raspy breaths that stretch on far longer than a normal laugh should. At just over twenty six seconds it builds a real sense of dread, making viewers expect a chase or a jumpscare even when nothing is happening on screen. Streamers and editors use that tension to turn ordinary moments creepy, funny, or instantly threatening.
