The character comes from SpongeBob SquarePants, the Nickelodeon series that introduced Patrick Star, SpongeBob's cheerful starfish best friend. The doodle style references the show's drawing come to life concept, later remixed online into rough, unsettling fan versions. Short scare edits using the distorted face circulated as a scream meme on video platforms, where creators reused the abrupt audio as a reusable punchline. Its popularity comes from that mismatch between a children's cartoon and horror timing, keeping the clip in rotation for reaction edits and prank compilations long after the original remix appeared.

Short jumpscare sting featuring Doodle Patrick Star from SpongeBob SquarePants, used for sudden scares, fake horror reveals and online meme edits.
This short clip pairs a distorted Doodle Patrick Star image with an abrupt loud sting designed to startle. The sound builds from near silence before a harsh, screeching hit lands at the reveal, making the goofy doodle version of Patrick feel suddenly threatening. Because Patrick is normally slow and cheerful, the contrast turns a familiar cartoon face into a quick horror joke. Viewers expect a harmless SpongeBob moment and get a sudden blast instead, which is why the three second duration works so well as a punchline, interruption or fake scare in edited videos.
