The sound comes from a Game Grumps playthrough of Mickey Mousecapade, the Mickey Mouse platform game, in which the hosts grow increasingly frustrated with its awkward controls and punishing difficulty. A crude fart joke made during that session was clipped and shared on soundboards, where listeners searching for a Mickey Mouse fart sound kept finding it. It has stayed in circulation because it is short, instantly recognisable to Game Grumps fans and easy to drop into gaming videos, reaction edits and memes about terrible retro games.

A Game Grumps clip from Mickey Mousecapade where the host jokes about farting, used as a crude reaction sound for bad games and gross-out memes.
The clip is a short, loud burst of Game Grumps commentary recorded while playing the frustrating Mickey Mousecapade, with the host delivering a gross, deadpan joke about farting and saying it was still better than the game itself. It sounds like fast, exasperated Let's Play banter, half rant and half silly voice acting, rising in frustration before landing on the crude punchline. Heard on its own, it is absurd and juvenile, which is exactly why it works as a reaction: it turns a bad game, a failed level or an embarrassing moment into something ridiculous rather than genuinely angry, and listeners recognise the over-the-top disgust immediately.
