Pennywise is the shapeshifting clown villain created by Stephen King for the novel IT, later brought to screen in the 2017 film It and its 2019 sequel, where Bill Skarsgård played the character. Known for luring children in the town of Derry, Pennywise has become one of modern horror's most recognisable figures, and short lines like this one circulate widely as memes and reaction sounds. Their appeal lies in the contrast between his cheerful clown appearance and the calm way he describes something horrific, which keeps the clip useful for both horror edits and dark comedy.

Pennywise's chilling 'I ate him' line from IT, delivered in a low, menacing clown voice. Creators use it for horror edits, jump scares and villain reveals.
This short clip captures Pennywise, the dancing clown from IT, uttering the line 'I ate him' in a slow, guttural voice that turns playful menace into genuine dread. The delivery is quiet and deliberate, with a raspy, almost growling tone that makes the simple words feel far more threatening than they look on paper. There is no music or background noise to soften it, just the clown's voice lingering in the silence. For viewers, the effect is instantly unsettling: a familiar horror villain calmly admitting to something monstrous, which makes it perfect for a sudden twist, a creepy reveal, or a joke that lands because it is so dark.
