The laugh comes from Mortal Kombat, the long-running fighting game series known for dramatic fighters, brutal finishes, and over-the-top villain characters. Short clips like this one spread through gaming edits, reaction videos, and TikTok trends, where creators use it as a quick audio cue for arrogance, revenge, or a crushing win. Its simple, unmistakable sound works without context, which is why it keeps appearing in versus edits, fail compilations, and memes about rivals, bosses, and sore losers.

A menacing laugh from Mortal Kombat, used as a villain taunt in gaming edits and reaction videos when a rival loses or a plan backfires badly.
The clip is a short, deep, theatrical laugh taken from the Mortal Kombat fighting games, delivered with a slow, mocking rhythm that sounds like a villain enjoying someone else's defeat. It starts low, builds into a harsh, echoing cackle, and ends abruptly, leaving a cold, triumphant feeling behind. That cruel confidence makes it instantly recognisable, even without any picture, and it turns a simple loss, mistake, or failed attempt into something dramatic and funny at the same time for everyone watching.
