The line 'My name is Jeff' comes from the 2014 comedy film 22 Jump Street, where it is delivered with an intentionally flat, awkward inflection. The quote took off on Vine around 2015, becoming one of the platform's most repeated memes, and creators began sampling it as a standalone soundboard clip. From there it spread to YouTube compilations, TikTok skits and gaming streams, where it stuck as a go-to punchline for introductions and surprise reveals.

The famous 'My name is Jeff' line from 22 Jump Street, said in a goofy deadpan voice. A classic meme sound effect for funny intros, pranks and awkward reveals.
This short clip captures the deadpan delivery of the line 'My name is Jeff,' spoken in a flat, slightly goofy tone with an awkward pause that makes it instantly funny. The voice sounds casual and unbothered, as if the speaker is introducing himself at the worst possible moment. That contrast is exactly why viewers laugh: the line lands with total confidence and zero self-awareness. Played over a fail, a surprise entrance or an unexpected face reveal, it turns an ordinary moment into a punchline and signals to the audience that something ridiculous is about to happen.
