The clip comes from New Girl, the sitcom centred on Jess and her loftmates, and features Schmidt, the show's vain and intensely enthusiastic roommate, loudly announcing that he is twenty-nine. Fans lifted the moment because it distils his personality into a few seconds, turning a birthday into a declaration rather than a quiet milestone. It has since circulated as a birthday meme and reaction sound, especially for people hitting twenty-nine who want to celebrate the age with humour instead of dread. Its appeal lies in that shared joke about approaching thirty.

Schmidt from New Girl shouting twentynine in this short clip, a loud birthday celebration moment fans use for turning 29 jokes and age reveal memes online.
This short clip captures Schmidt from New Girl delivering the word twentynine with loud, theatrical enthusiasm, stretching the syllables and hitting the final sound with a triumphant, almost relieved punch. His voice is high, urgent and proudly dramatic, the kind of delivery that turns a simple age into a celebration in itself. Listeners instantly recognise the mix of vanity, excitement and comic self-importance that defines the character, and the clip lands as a funny, quotable burst of birthday energy. It works because it is so specific yet so relatable, turning an ordinary milestone into a moment of exaggerated pride.
