The phrase ocean to jest zupa is Polish for the ocean is a soup, and the clip circulates online mainly as a short spoken meme rather than as a clip tied to a known film or show. Its appeal online is the contrast between ordinary language and an impossible idea, presented without explanation. Shared on soundboards and in chat edits, it works like other absurd one liners that gain humour through repetition and context, appearing whenever water, the sea, or soup is mentioned purely for a nonsense response.

Ocean to jest zupa is a Polish spoken meme clip with a deadpan line claiming the sea is a soup, used as a random absurd reaction in edits and chats.
This clip features a voice delivering the Polish phrase ocean to jest zupa, which translates to the ocean is a soup, as if it were a serious observation. The delivery stays flat and matter of fact, which makes the strange comparison feel even funnier. There is no build up or punchline beyond the statement itself, so the humour comes from the sudden, confident nonsense. Listeners are left with an image that makes no logical sense, and that confusion is exactly why the line works as a brief, surreal interruption in a conversation or video.
