Jumpstyle emerged in Belgium and the Netherlands in the early 2000s as a hard dance offshoot, defined by its pounding kick drum, offbeat bass and simple synth riffs, along with a distinctive jumping dance. Clips labelled Polska point to the style's strong following in Poland, where dancers and editors shared short tracks and routines online. As YouTube and later short form video grew, these loops became easy meme and edit audio, reused for dance attempts, gaming montages and ironic high energy moments where the relentless beat does most of the work.
