Portal 2 was released by Valve in 2011 as the sequel to Portal, with Wheatley voiced by Stephen Merchant as a talkative personality core who guides Chell early on. Later he becomes an antagonist, and this designed to be a moron line comes from that betrayal arc. The quote was clipped and shared on forums and video edits because Merchant's delivery made a harsh insult sound funny and quotable. It remains a staple Portal reference used whenever someone wants a playful, game-accurate way to call a decision foolish.

Wheatley's insulting line from Portal 2 where he tells Chell she was designed to be a moron, used for roasts and fail moments in edits and reaction memes
This is Wheatley's sharp put-down from Portal 2, delivered in his cheerful British voice as he turns on Chell near the end of the game. He insists she is not just an ordinary moron, but one who was carefully designed to be that way. The line lands because the delivery stays upbeat and almost proud while the insult itself is brutal. It works as an instant roast that feels personal without being angry, making it perfect for calling out a silly mistake, a bad take, or a friend who walked straight into an obvious trap.
