The Previously on Lucifer announcer intro from the hit TV series, used for recaps, flashbacks and dramatic story catch-ups in edits and videos.

Previously on Lucifer is the short recap intro heard at the start of episodes of the television series Lucifer, spoken in a deep, serious announcer voice over a brief dramatic sting. The line lasts just over two seconds and instantly signals that a quick summary of earlier events is about to follow. Creators lift it because the delivery is so formal and ominous for such a simple phrase, making it funny and effective when placed before any minor flashback, personal update or running joke that does not really need a television style recap.

Suggerimento pro

Drop it cold at the very start of a segment with no music underneath, then cut straight to your recap clips on the last syllable. Keep the original pause intact and avoid adding reverb, the dry announcer delivery is what sells the joke.

Lucifer premiered in 2016, first on Fox and later on Netflix, following Lucifer Morningstar as he leaves Hell to run a nightclub in Los Angeles and consult for the police. Like many serialised dramas, episodes often opened with a previously on montage to remind viewers of ongoing arcs. Fans clipped that short intro for edits and memes, using it in the same dramatic spirit as the Law and Order DUN DUN, and it now works as a universal cue for any recap, however trivial the story being retold.
