Shooting Stars is a 2008 song by Australian electronic duo Bag Raiders that became a major meme in 2017. Videos paired the drop with people and animals falling or jumping, then edited them flying through psychedelic space backgrounds. The format spread across YouTube, Vine and later TikTok, turning a nostalgic dance track into shorthand for trippy, out-of-body moments. It remains a staple edit audio because the build and release are instantly recognisable, even without the full song.

The Bag Raiders Shooting Stars meme sound with the dreamy synth drop used for floating through space edits, fails and surreal zoom-out videos.
This is the iconic drop from Shooting Stars by Bag Raiders, the washed-out synth and airy vocal hook that instantly turns any clip surreal. It starts mellow and dreamy, then lifts into that weightless, floating feeling the meme is famous for. Played under a person, pet or object drifting away, it makes an ordinary moment feel like a trip through space. The contrast between the calm, nostalgic music and a ridiculous visual is what lands the joke, leaving viewers with that spaced-out, oddly satisfying mood long after the clip ends.
