The original tone comes from Over the Horizon, the signature melody preloaded on Samsung Galaxy phones since 2011 and heard as a default ringtone for years. Reversed versions began circulating in meme and soundboard communities, where flipping a sound everyone knows is a simple way to make it feel cursed or comical. The Portuguese title toque da Samsung reflects how Brazilian creators label and share the clip. It remains popular because the source is instantly identifiable, even when the melody runs backwards.

Reversed Samsung ringtone sound effect with the familiar phone tone played backwards, used in meme edits, prank videos and unexpected call jokes.
This is the classic Samsung phone ringtone played in reverse, turning a familiar everyday melody into something strange and slightly unsettling. The notes run backwards with a warped, rising feel, so the tune feels recognisable but wrong in a funny way. Listeners instantly know the original tone, yet the reversed version makes it sound like a glitch, a dream sequence or a phone call from another dimension. That odd familiarity is why it lands so well as a joke, catching attention before the punchline even arrives.
