Uncle Roger is the orange polo wearing alter ego of Malaysian comedian Nigel Ng, who went viral in 2020 reacting to a BBC Food egg fried rice video. His exaggerated complaints about rice, MSG and weak cooking technique turned phrases like soo upset into reusable reaction clips. Fans cut the line from his YouTube reviews and spread it across TikTok and meme edits, where it now signals playful disappointment at any kitchen mistake, not just fried rice.

Uncle Roger saying soo upset in his exaggerated disappointed voice from Nigel Ng's comedy videos. Used as a reaction sound for bad cooking and food fails.
This clip captures Uncle Roger, the comedy character played by Nigel Ng, delivering his line soo upset with stretched vowels and mock heartbreak in his voice. He sounds personally offended, as if a bad recipe or weak seasoning has ruined his whole day. The delivery is slow, whiny and theatrical rather than angry, which makes it funny instead of harsh. Placed over a failed dish or a confident mistake, it instantly turns mild disappointment into a dramatic judgement that viewers immediately understand.
