Heathens was released by Twenty One Pilots in 2016 as a single from the Suicide Squad film soundtrack. Written by Tyler Joseph, the song reached the top of charts internationally and became one of the duo's signature tracks. The opening line, all my friends are heathens, take it slow, quickly became a quotable hook online, used in fan edits, lyric videos and montages for antiheroes and outsider characters. Its mix of pop, rock and hip hop helped it cross from the film audience to a much wider meme and editing community.

The opening lyric from Heathens by Twenty One Pilots, the dark pop hit from Suicide Squad that fans use for edgy edits and villain introductions.
This short clip captures the instantly recognisable opening line of Heathens, sung in a hushed, warning tone over a sparse, moody beat. The delivery feels intimate and slightly menacing, as if the singer is letting the listener in on a dangerous secret about his circle. That tension between a catchy melody and a dark lyric is what makes the moment stick. It lands like a reveal, turning an ordinary entrance or character introduction into something secretive, rebellious and a little unsettling without needing any extra explanation.
