Baldi's Basics in Education and Learning was released in 2018 as a free indie horror game by Micah McGonigal, also known as Mystman12. Styled like a bad 1990s edutainment title, it features Baldi hunting the player through a school while slapping a ruler. The game went viral for its unsettling art and voice acting, spawning countless memes and fan edits. This clip plays on a core part of his character, reimagining him without the ruler that makes him threatening, which is why it keeps circulating in gaming humor.

Baldi without his ruler sound effect from Baldi's Basics, a short joke voice clip used for confused teacher reactions and funny meme edits in videos.
This is a short joke voice clip imagining Baldi from Baldi's Basics without his signature ruler. Normally his calm teacher voice turns threatening as he slaps the ruler in his hand while chasing the player. Stripped of that prop, the moment plays as confused and powerless instead of scary. The humor comes from the contrast between his usual strict, distorted delivery and the silly premise. It lands as a quick punchline for school, gaming, and fail moments where an authority figure suddenly loses control.
