John Herbert, usually called Mr Herbert, is a recurring character in Family Guy, the animated sitcom created by Seth MacFarlane that premiered on Fox in 1999. Voiced originally by Mike Henry, Herbert lives on Spooner Street in Quahog and is known for his high, wheezing voice, his walker and his inappropriate fixation on Chris Griffin. Clips of his lines began circulating on meme pages and soundboards in the 2010s, where his drawn-out delivery became shorthand for a creepy older man appearing at exactly the wrong moment.

Mr Herbert's soft-spoken voice line from Family Guy, the elderly neighbour known for his unsettling interest in Chris Griffin, used for awkward joke moments.
This clip captures Mr Herbert, the soft-spoken elderly neighbour from Family Guy, delivering one of his drawn-out, wheezing lines in that unmistakably slow and overly friendly tone. His voice rises and cracks with age, dragging out vowels while he tries to sound innocent, which is exactly what makes it so unsettling and funny at the same time. The humour comes from the contrast between the gentle delivery and the creepy implication behind his words. Dropped into a video without context, it instantly turns an ordinary moment into something awkward, suspicious and hard not to laugh at.
