SAD! was released in March 2018 by American rapper XXXTentacion, born Jahseh Onfroy, as the lead single from his second studio album ?. Built around a guitar sample and emo rap styling, it became his biggest hit and reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 after his death in June 2018. The track's short melodic loop and confessional tone made excerpts easy to reuse online, where clips circulate in edits, tributes, and reaction videos long after the chart run.

Clip from SAD! by XXXTentacion, the melancholic emo rap hit known for its looping guitar and somber hook, used in sad edits and meme videos.
This clip captures the opening mood of SAD! by XXXTentacion, built around a soft, repeating guitar loop and a low, tired vocal delivery that feels drained rather than dramatic. The melody is simple and instantly recognisable, with space between the notes that lets the sadness sit. It does not build to a big drop or punchline, it just lingers, which is why a short excerpt works on its own. Played over a quiet moment, a failed attempt or a lonely scene, it immediately changes the tone to reflective and heavy.
