Hawk tuah spread in June 2024 after a street interview in Nashville where Hailey Welch used the phrase as a joke, turning it into a major TikTok catchphrase. Rizzy comes from rizz, slang for charm, while glizzy is slang for a hot dog, and both words were already common in meme edits. Combining them created a remix style clip built for TikTok trends, with creators reusing the mashup for jokes, captions and reaction videos long after the original interview faded from the feed.

The hawk tuah rizzy glizzy sound effect mixes the viral Hawk Tuah catchphrase with Gen Z slang for a short meme clip used in edits and reactions.
This clip layers the instantly recognisable hawk tuah delivery with the playful slang words rizzy and glizzy, creating a fast, exaggerated meme sound that feels both flirty and ridiculous. The voice is bright and over the top, leaning into the joke with stretched vowels and a punchy rhythm that cuts through background music. It works because it compresses several viral phrases into a few seconds, so viewers understand the humour immediately even without context. The effect is light, silly and attention grabbing, making a normal moment sound like a deliberate punchline.
