The clip comes from Pantry Pirate, a Pluto cartoon released on December 27, 1940. Its short bonk-and-crash was later catalogued in the Hollywood Edge sound library as a bulb-horn crash effect, which helped it circulate beyond the original cartoon. Soundboard users now keep it for the same reason animators used it: a split-second impact can sell a fall without dialogue. Its brevity makes it easy to drop into memes, gaming clips, and fail compilations.

A short bulb-horn bonk and crash from Disney's 1940 Pluto cartoon Pantry Pirate, capturing a hit, spin, and fall moment for slapstick edits.
This ultra-short clip packs a whole slapstick pratfall into less than half a second. It opens with a sharp, rubbery bulb-horn bonk, the kind of squeaky honk old cartoons used for a sudden bump on the head, then tips straight into a brief, clattering crash as the character spins out of control. The effect is instantly funny because the brain fills in the rest: the impact, the dizzy whirl, and the undignified landing. In an edit it works as a punchline accent, turning a small stumble, missed catch, or failed stunt into a cartoon disaster without needing any dialogue or explanation.
