Krieg is the mask-wearing Psycho class character added to Borderlands 2, voiced by Jason Douglas, famous for deranged combat barks that mix violence with random non sequiturs. The 'modern art' shout is one of his most quoted lines, and players ripped it from gameplay audio once it became a meme in clip compilations and edit culture. It stuck around because the phrase clashes so hard with the bloodthirsty delivery, turning any chaotic moment into a joke. Today it lives on as a go-to punch-in for gaming memes and Discord soundboards.

Krieg from Borderlands 2 shouts 'modern art' in this short voice clip. Creators drop it over chaotic gameplay kills and absurd edits. Play and download the MP3.
This is Krieg at maximum volume: the mask-wearing Psycho from Borderlands 2 letting loose a full-throated scream of 'modern art' that lands like a joke and a battle cry at once. The delivery is raw and distorted, half laugh, half threat, and it lasts barely over a second, which makes it perfect as a sudden punch-in rather than a full line. Dropped onto a video, it turns whatever just happened on screen into something unhinged, as if the clip itself has lost its mind. The clip works because the phrase is so out of place shouted by a bloodthirsty maniac, and that mismatch is the whole joke.
