Neco-Arc is the cat-like parody of Arcueid Brunestud from Type-Moon's Tsukihime and Melty Blood games, created as a joke character who quickly became a fan favourite. Her exaggerated, playful voice lines were clipped and shared in fighting game videos, anime edits and meme compilations, where short sounds are easy to reuse. The nyeh in particular stuck because it is immediately identifiable even out of context, and it still appears in reaction edits and short-form videos that lean on chaotic anime humour.

Neco-Arc's short, high-pitched nyeh sound effect from the Melty Blood and Tsukihime character, used as a cute, teasing reaction in memes and video edits.
Neco-Arc's nyeh is a tiny, high-pitched chirp that lasts less than half a second, delivered in her playful, cat-like voice with a quick upward lilt. It sounds cheeky and smug rather than angry, like a cartoon character sticking its tongue out after getting away with something. Because it is so short and instantly recognisable, it lands as a punchline on its own, adding a burst of mischievous energy without interrupting dialogue or music. Viewers tend to read it as cute, teasing and slightly chaotic, which is why it works so well as a reaction to a joke, a fail or an unexpected twist.
