The phrase comes from El Chavo del Ocho, the Mexican sitcom created by Roberto Gómez Bolaños that first aired in 1973 and became a staple across Latin America. 'Chavito' is the affectionate diminutive for El Chavo, the poor orphan boy at the centre of the neighbourhood stories. Decades after broadcast, short emotional lines from the show still circulate as reaction audios in chats and edited videos, where this begging farewell is reused whenever someone leaves, quits a match or signs off, long after the original scene is forgotten.
