The clip is taken from a voiceline pack titled 2017x PCX Skin Voicelines, credited to Bonnimator, collecting lines for the 2017x skin associated with the PCX character in fan horror game content. 2017x is a darker Sonic style exe character, and his lines are often pulled into edits, soundboards and short gameplay memes. As the single word spread on its own, it stopped needing the full scene for context and became a standalone joke about deception, perfect for quick reposts and reaction style videos shared among horror game fans.

Subterfuge is the short 2017x PCX skin voice line where the character delivers the single word in a menacing tone, used for sneaky reveals and trick plays.
This is a brief, dramatic voice clip of 2017x saying the single word subterfuge. The delivery is low, cold and drawn out enough to sound like a taunt rather than a normal line of dialogue. Because the word itself means a deceptive trick, the clip lands instantly as a smug reveal: someone has been fooled, a trap has worked, or a villain is enjoying the moment. Its short length makes it hit cleanly over gameplay or a reaction shot, and the serious tone contrasts funnily with silly or low stakes betrayals on screen.
