Thriller is the title track from Michael Jackson's 1982 album Thriller, written by Rod Temperton and produced by Quincy Jones. Released as a single in 1983, it became famous for its horror theme, Vincent Price's spoken section and John Landis's music video with its zombie dance routine. The song and video turned Jackson into a global pop icon and made the track a permanent Halloween staple. Online, short clips are reused every October and year round for spooky edits, dance recreations and dramatic meme reveals.

A short clip from Michael Jackson's Thriller, the iconic horror pop song used for Halloween edits, spooky reveals, dance memes and dramatic entrances.
This clip captures the instantly recognisable sound of Thriller, with its creeping bassline, sharp synths and eerie Halloween atmosphere building tension in seconds. Even a short excerpt feels theatrical and ominous, like something is about to jump out from the dark. Listeners recognise the groove immediately, even before any vocals arrive, which makes it perfect for setting a spooky mood without explanation. It works as both a joke and a genuine scare cue, shifting a normal moment into a dramatic horror scene and priming viewers to expect a reveal, a chase or an over the top entrance.
