The Woah clip comes from Crash Bandicoot, the PlayStation platform series that began in 1996, where Crash shouts it when startled or knocked out. The line stayed a nostalgic gaming quote for years, then spread widely online in 2017 through remixed videos, green screen edits and repeated Woah compilations. Its exaggerated delivery made it easy to copy, loop and layer over other scenes. The full version is still used today because it keeps the complete shout that shorter soundboard cuts often trim.

The full Woah meme sound from Crash Bandicoot, featuring the exaggerated surprised shout creators drop into gaming fails, reaction clips and funny edits.
This is the full version of the Woah exclamation, a loud, drawn-out shout that pitches up in surprise before trailing off. Taken from Crash Bandicoot's classic reaction, the sound feels instantly cartoonish rather than alarmed, which is why it works as a punchline. A normal moment is building, something unexpected happens, and the Woah lands right on the reveal to exaggerate the shock. The longer cut lets the whole arc play out instead of cutting the yell short, so the joke has time to build and release.
