Clapping reaction clips have circulated widely on short-form video platforms, where a short vocal reaction followed by applause is reused to praise, mock or punctuate a moment without needing dialogue. This wow clap version follows that same pattern, pairing an amazed voice with audience-style clapping that creators can drop over a reveal, a comeback or a long-awaited answer. Its popularity comes from that flexibility, sitting alongside other exaggerated reaction sounds such as oh my god meme and yaaaaaaaay, which are also used to turn a simple response into a punchline.

A drawn-out wow followed by enthusiastic clapping, used as a sarcastic or impressed reaction in memes and short videos when something finally lands.
This clip opens with a single voice stretching out a long, amazed wow before breaking into loud, rhythmic clapping that sounds like one person applauding right next to the microphone. The claps are sharp, uneven and slightly overexcited, which gives the whole sound a theatrical, tongue-in-cheek energy rather than polite applause. Heard on its own it feels both impressed and mocking, so viewers instantly read it as a reaction to something obvious, overdue or unexpectedly good. That ambiguity is what makes it stick, because the same few seconds can praise a win, roast a late realisation or punctuate a punchline.
