Bassie en Adriaan were played by brothers Bas and Aad van Toor, a Dutch clown and acrobat act who moved from circus work to children's television in the late 1970s. Their series and songs became a staple for generations in the Netherlands and Flanders, and Bassie's greetings to his vriendjes en vriendinnetjes became his most quoted catchphrase. The farewell version survives online as a meme and soundboard clip, shared by adults who watched as children and now use it ironically among friends.

Bassie saying dag vriendjes en vriendinnetjes, the familiar farewell from the Dutch TV duo, used for nostalgic goodbyes and meme edits online.
This is Bassie the clown saying goodbye with his signature dag vriendjes en vriendinnetjes line, delivered in his warm, cheerful, slightly high pitched voice. The clip is short and instantly recognisable to anyone who grew up with Bassie en Adriaan on Dutch television. It sounds friendly rather than sad, like a children's presenter closing a show and waving everyone off. Dropped into a video or chat, it turns a normal goodbye into a nostalgic joke, softening the exit and usually getting a smile or a knowing laugh from Dutch viewers.
