The laugh comes from Team Fortress 2, Valve's class based shooter released in 2007, where the Demoman is the Scottish explosives specialist known for stickybombs and grenades. His voice lines and taunts were widely ripped and reused as players shared clips on forums, YouTube and gaming communities. The extended cackle survived because it is instantly recognisable and longer than most reaction laughs. Alongside clips like the baby laughing meme, it remains a staple for gaming edits, trolling moments and sarcastic responses where a short chuckle would feel too weak.

The Demoman laughing sound is the long cackle from Team Fortress 2, dropped into meme edits to mock a bad joke, a big fail or a beaten opponent.
This is the Demoman from Team Fortress 2 bursting into a long, wheezing laugh that keeps building instead of stopping after one chuckle. The delivery is loud, smug and slightly unhinged, with the character clearly enjoying himself far more than anyone else in the scene. Because it lasts several seconds, the laugh feels like a taunt rather than a simple reaction. Viewers instantly read it as mockery, disbelief or celebration at someone else's expense, which makes even an ordinary clip feel meaner, sillier and more dramatic once the sound starts playing over it.
