Discord launched in 2015 as a chat app for gamers and its call ring quickly became familiar to millions of users who spent hours in voice channels. As Discord moved into schools, study groups and general social chats, the ringtone started appearing in prank videos and classroom jokes. Playing it out loud made whole rooms check their devices at once. Remix versions such as the bass boost discord call pushed the joke further, but the plain ring remains the most believable for a quick, harmless fake call.

The Discord call ringtone sound used to prank friends in class or on stream, making it sound like someone is joining a voice chat out of nowhere.
This is the familiar Discord incoming call melody, the looping electronic chime that plays when someone starts a voice call. In this short clip it rings just long enough to sound completely real, which is why it works as a prank. Listeners instinctively check their screen, look for an incoming call, or glance around the room confused. The clean digital tones and recognizable rhythm trigger an instant reaction even from people who are not looking at their phone or computer, making the fake call feel like a genuine interruption in the middle of class, work or a stream.
