Dubstep grew out of UK electronic music in the 2000s and became widely known online in the early 2010s for its heavy bass drops and wobble sounds. Pew pew is the written imitation of a cartoon laser or toy gun, long used in games, comics and internet jokes. Combining the two became a natural fit for soundboards and meme editing, where short music clips that mix a recognisable effect with a drop are easy to reuse. This version stays popular because the joke is instant, even without any context from a film or show.

A dubstep pew pew sound effect mixing wobble bass drops with laser gun shots, used for meme edits, gaming montages and over the top action jokes.
This clip turns cartoon laser gun noises into a short dubstep track, layering rapid pew pew shots over heavy wobble bass, sharp synth stabs and a driving electronic beat. The gun sounds stay playful rather than realistic, firing in rhythm with the drops so each shot feels like part of the music. It lasts just over twelve seconds, long enough for a quick build and payoff but short enough to loop or cut tightly. Listeners hear it as chaotic and funny, a burst of exaggerated sci fi energy that makes ordinary footage feel like an intense, silly shootout.
