Gangnam Style is a 2012 single by South Korean singer Psy, released as the lead track from his album Psy 6 (Six Rules), Part 1. Its music video became a global phenomenon on YouTube, famous for Psy's horse-riding dance and satirical take on Seoul's wealthy Gangnam district. It was the first video to pass one billion views on the platform, inspiring countless parodies, flash mobs and dance covers worldwide. The hook remains instantly recognisable more than a decade later, which is why short clips still appear in memes, edits and celebrations.

The upbeat Gangnam Style music clip from Psy's 2012 hit, with its catchy dance beat and chorus hook that creators use for party edits, dance memes and reveals.
This 18-second clip captures the instantly recognisable opening energy of Gangnam Style, driven by a pounding electronic dance beat, bright synth hooks and Psy's confident vocal rhythm. It sounds bold, playful and relentlessly upbeat, building quickly into the kind of chorus moment that makes listeners want to move. Even without the full song, the short burst carries the swagger and humour of the original viral dance craze, instantly signalling a confident entrance or a ridiculous celebration. It works because almost everyone recognises it within a second, turning an ordinary edit into something larger, sillier and more memorable.
