Gangsta's Paradise was released in 1995 by American rapper Coolio featuring singer L.V., created for the soundtrack to the film Dangerous Minds. It is built around a sample of Stevie Wonder's 1976 song Pastime Paradise and became a worldwide number one hit, later winning a Grammy Award. The serious tone and famous chorus kept it in popular culture for decades, helped by parodies and constant reuse in film and television. Online, creators shortened it into a dramatic cue that still instantly signals a hard life or a fall from grace.

A short clip of Coolio's 1995 hit Gangsta's Paradise featuring L.V., used in edits for dramatic reveals, street life stories and nostalgic throwbacks.
This clip is the instantly recognisable opening of Gangsta's Paradise, built around a somber choir loop and Coolio's measured, reflective rap delivery with L.V. singing the haunting chorus. The mood is serious and cinematic rather than upbeat, with a slow, heavy beat that feels like a warning. Even in just a few seconds it signals danger, consequence and a life lived on the edge. Viewers hear it and immediately expect a dramatic turn, a tough backstory or an ironic contrast between the grave music and what is happening on screen.
