In June 2024, a Nashville street interview posted on TikTok asked passersby for bedroom advice, and one woman's blunt, slangy answer - 'you gotta give him that hawk tuah' - exploded into the defining meme of the summer. The clip spawned remixes, reaction videos, merchandise and even a podcast, turning its star, Haliey Welch, into an overnight internet celebrity. Today the sound lives on as a short reaction clip for crude punchlines, a cousin of other instant-comedy reaction memes like the classic BRUH and the Emotional Damage Meme.

The viral 'hawk tuah' spit-on-that-thang voice clip from the 2024 street interview meme, dropped into funny edits and reaction videos for a cheeky punchline.
This is the six-second viral voice clip where Haliey Welch, stopped for a street interview in the summer of 2024, answers a flirty question with a blunt sex-joke punchline about spitting - 'hawk tuah'. Her matter-of-fact Southern delivery, the crude onomatopoeia of the phrase itself and the shock of the answer colliding with a public interview setting made it an instant internet catchphrase. Drop it into an edit and the reaction is immediate: everyone who lived through the summer of 2024 recognises it within the first syllable, and the clip's rude little energy turns any clip of bad aim, messy moments or wild confessionals into a joke.
